Pour water into a microwave-safe, 2-cup liquid measuring cup.
Heat in the microwave on high for 1 minute, then add tea bags. (Make sure they are submerged in the water.)
Heat again on high for 2 minutes. The water will be very hot, so leave it in the microwave to steep 2 to 10 minutes, depending on the type of tea and your taste preference.
Remove tea bags. Add 2 or 3 ice cubes to cool the tea more quickly if desired.
Transfer to a glass jar or pitcher, then add more water to dilute, to taste.
Store tea in refrigerator, and drink within 24 to 48 hours for best flavor.
