Instructions
  1. Place the vinegar, optional mayonnaise, dried herbs, salt and pepper in a shallow bowl or directly in the measuring cup. (If using fresh herbs, add right before serving.) Stir to blend well.
  2. Drizzle in the oil as you whisk, or add 1 tablespoon at a time and whisk well after each addition. This will help emulsify the liquids so the dressing becomes thick and creamy.
