REBECCA: THE CLEAN FOODIE
Rebecca spent 6 years in California while in college and working at her first job, and she still tries to eat like a California-style Clean Foodie. She bases her food choices on a gluten-free, soy-free, mostly vegetarian diet and loves Mediterranean and Hispanic cuisines, which work well with her dietary restrictions. Her proteins of choice are usually eggs, cheese, beans and nuts. Rebecca and her husband Nick love to entertain friends out on their patio, serving quick and easy meals that fit in their budget and won’t take them away from the fun. GREG: THE SPARTAN FOODIE
Greg’s plate might be filled, but his kitchen is not. He only wants those items that are absolutely necessary. Efficiency is the name of the game. After all, he’s the engineer, inventor and world traveler of the family (yes, already). He loves different cultures and foods, and has always been an adventuresome eater. When he was only 8 years old and on vacation in Portugal, the first thing he ordered (to everyone’s surprise) was Wild Boar with Clams, which he happily devoured! He prefers to make one-dish meals, using his large saucepan or a baking sheet. He’ll freeze the leftovers and eat them all week. See Greg’s Favorites if you think you’re like Greg.
BOBBI (MOM): THE EXPERIMENTAL FOODIE
Bobbi is always looking for ways to eat more healthfully. She’s curious about different cuisines and likes to try exotic and unusual fruits and vegetables. However, for everyday cooking, she prefers simple meals that taste fresh and don’t require that much time in the kitchen. When Bobbi entertains, be ready for something you’ve probably never had before. It’s likely that she hasn’t either! Most of the time, you won’t be disappointed… but experiments do have a way of failing every once in a while. Search for Bobbi’s Favorites if you love to try new things as well as old favorites.
RICHARD (DAD): THE FINICKY FOODIE
Richard lives by the mantra: if it’s not broke, don’t fix it! He sticks with his tried and true favorites for the most part. He has a few Cajun specialties he can make, but otherwise, he doesn’t care to cook. He’s happy eating out, unless someone else is around to cook for him. When necessary he can throw a steak on the grill, steam some vegetables and open up a bottle of wine. If you’re in this category, that’s great! This website (and our upcoming cookbook) is perfect for you. You’ll not only learn how to prepare many of the dishes you’ve always enjoyed, but will also be inspired to try new things (we hope).
