Mango Cantaloupe Smoothie

Try this refreshing summertime smoothie when cantaloupe is sweet and juicy. You won’t need any additional sweetener. Have it for breakfast, or leave out the protein and enjoy it as a light snack. It’s packed with beta-carotene and fiber, as an added bonus!

For breakfast, we add protein powder to the smoothie, as the recipe specifies. If you want a light, refreshing beverage, leave out the protein, and add lemon juice and mint instead. We usually toss in some flaxseeds to either version for extra fiber and good fats.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup almond milk or similar
  • 1 cup cantaloupe (cut in chunks)
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 scoop unsweetened protein powder (whey or plant-based)
Add-ins: (optional: choose one, more, or none)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 4 leaves fresh mint
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds or chia seeds

Instructions
  1. Pour almond milk into blender container, up to the 1/2-cup mark.
  2. Cut up cantaloupe, if needed.
  3. Add all remaining ingredients and optional add-ins. Blend until smooth.
Recipe Notes

VARIATIONS:

  • Substitute fresh papaya chunks for the cantaloupe.
  • Substitute frozen peach slices for the frozen mango.
