“My cousin Cindy is an avid iced tea fan who insists on making it fresh every day. This is her neat trick that’s so easy you may never go back to your tea kettle. You will need a microwave-safe container like a Pyrex® 2-cup liquid measuring cup. We combine teas, including black, green, white, flavored, and herbal.”

If you're an iced tea aficionado, you'll want it fresh every day. Here's a quick and easy way to make a small, daily amount. To make more, just add a few additional tea bags, then dilute it to taste after it has steeped.
Tools:2-cup Pyrex measuring cup (or other microwave-safe container)
|
- Pour water into a microwave-safe, 2-cup liquid measuring cup.
- Heat in the microwave on high for 1 minute, then add tea bags. (Make sure they are submerged in the water.)
- Heat again on high for 2 minutes. The water will be very hot, so leave it in the microwave to steep 2 to 10 minutes, depending on the type of tea and your taste preference.
- Remove tea bags. Add 2 or 3 ice cubes to cool the tea more quickly if desired.
- Transfer to a glass jar or pitcher, then add more water to dilute, to taste.
- Store tea in refrigerator, and drink within 24 to 48 hours for best flavor.
Tip: Never pour boiling water into a glass container, unless it is made of tempered, shatterproof glass (like Pyrex). Allow the liquid to cool first if using a regular glass pitcher (or jar).
SERVING SUGGESTION:
- Pour over ice and garnish with a slice of citrus fruit and/or a sprig of mint.
VARIATIONS:
- Sweet Tea – Add desired amount of sweetener to the tea, after removing tea bags and while still warm. Stir until dissolved.
- Without a microwave – Boil 2 cups water in a small saucepan, then remove from heat and add tea bags, or pour boiling water over tea in a teapot.
